How to choose the right Grease Box for your grill
A short guide to picking the correct Grease Box model for your wood pellet grill, based on where your grill's grease spout is located.
The Grease Box comes in a few models. The right one for you depends mostly on where the grease leaves your grill. Here is how to figure it out.
Step 1: find your grease spout
Look under the barrel of your grill for the point where grease drains out. It is usually one of these:
- Side spout. The grease exits from the side of the barrel into a bucket that hangs on the side or leg.
- Bottom / under-grill spout. The grease drains straight down through a hole in the bottom of the barrel.
Step 2: match the model
- If your grease exits from the side, you want a side-mount model.
- If your grease drains from the bottom, you want an under-grill model.
- Some grill brands (for example, certain Green Mountain models) use a different fitting and have their own matching model.
Step 3: confirm compatibility

A note on short or narrow spouts
If your grill has a compact, short, or removable grease spout, you may need an adapter for a snug fit. The compatibility tool flags this for you so you can add the right adapter to your order.
